As a celebrated MC on Toby, Iki is well-known for her dedication, agility, professionalism, and positivity. Realizing the importance of being agile, Iki was able to stay calm and worked to advance her career and personal development while most people struggled to cope with the pandemic.

As the saying goes, “Success requires hard work”. The sweet fruits of success cannot be achieved without hurdles and challenges. While some might decide to give up midway, there are those who choose to stand steadfast and overcome the obstacles. Mr. Yau from the interior design and renovation industry is the perfect example. It has been more than a year since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and beauty centres and massage parlors in Hong Kong had been ordered to shut up their store repeatedly. During this period, most of my friends have pretty much “given up” on themselves and would rather stay home without doing anything about their long and messy hair. To my surprise, I found that hair salons have been spared all along when I conducted this year’s interview with Top Pro hairstylist Herman, but unfortunately, this so-called “advantage” hasn’t done much good for the industry. Despite all the difficulties, Herman has still managed to earn a place as a Top Pro, not only because he found a wider customer on Toby but also because he took the initiative to include in-home services.

Meeting Whitney again was like talking to old friend, but the interaction was much more intimate this time and I could easily feel the love and concern she has for her students and others. When I first met Whitney, I could already sense that she is the type of tutor who always put her students first and doesn’t just concentrated on their results but also their physical and mental development. However, Whitney has evolved, her world is no longer just about the wellbeing of her students but also the happiness of all those who surround her. Whitney is not just a tutor but also our friend.
