In the past, we sacrificed the sea in exchange for land, but when the sea gradually lost, we realized the price behind the prosperity and longed to regain the vast blue sea. Gaole Garden is located in the reclaimed area of Sai Ying Pun that day. Although it has a unique view of the Victoria Harbour, the interior area of the house is only 300 square feet. Its narrow space can be described as a product of urbanization. In order to make the homeowner feel the atmosphere of the sea in the city, the 5DS design team built the unit into an urban version of the "seaside cottage", bringing the elements of nature into the design and putting the feeling of the sea into the home. The whole space integrates the feeling of the city and nature, the design is fashionable and elegant, and many wild elements are added at the same time. Among them, blue fabric is used to symbolize sea water, bringing visual focus and highlighting the theme of "seaside". The large-scale cement bricks in the house are also another design highlight. Their texture not only presents a garden style, but also distinguishes the layers and intervals with clear lines on the walls and ceilings. These line-filled designs, including the two-story design of the walls, the checkered panels on the glass walls, and the concave and convex partitions on the lockers, are bringing urban character to the space. Transparency and brightness are also key elements in shaping the unit into a "seaside hut", as sufficient light will make the unit appear more like it is near the coast. Therefore, the whole house adopts an open-plan design, in which a glass wall is used to separate the room and the living room, so that the light will not be blocked, and the view of the house will be wider. As for the office area next to the living room, instead of the study, its large wall-mounted lockers bring practicality, and the open space allows the homeowner to work in plenty of light. Although the room is not large, the large window room allows the owner to enjoy the sea view in a small space and look at the sea calmly.
